Sky High is just up the street from the entrance of "The Road To Nowhere " and some of the most beautiful scenic overlooks in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. This cabin is located as its name suggests, on a mountain top as high as the sky. This mountain top location gives it a wide open view across the Smoky Mountains as they spread out bellow. This cabin is only a few miles from down town Bryson City and the Deep Creek area of the national park where tubing and hiking to water falls are don't miss attractions. The many attractions of Cherokee like the Oconaluftee Indian Village, the out door drama Unto These Hills, and the many shops and restaurant of down town are about 20 minutes away. If you are into more adventure, white water rafting down the Nantahala River is about 35 minutes down HWY 74.

Exterior:

Sky High Log Cabin's mountain top location does not allow it a large yard but its incredible scenic views more than make up for the lack of yard. The parking area is large enough for most vehicles to negotiate a 3 point turn to head back down the gravel driveway. A short walk between the deck and the split rail fence leads to a small front yard where a fire pit with a beautiful mountain view and chairs, wait for marshmallow to be roasted. The large side and front decks make up most of the outdoor space. Both decks offer excellent views of the mountains. The side deck is sunny in the afternoon and full of stars in the evening. The front deck is covered and an excellent shady place to enjoy dining out in the fresh air at a picnic table with scenic mountain top views. A great way to start a romantic evening is by relaxing in the warm massaging waters of the private hot tub on the side deck while watching the sun set over the mountain view.
